Friday Weigh in - And Weight loss jars

Well... Its slowing starting to melt away again. :)  I love it when the scale goes down. At this point, I will take any loss that I can get.

Remember.. Time is going to pass, and you can either be losing weight, gaining weight or staying the same. I figure, If I am losing anything at all.. its GREAT!


A long time ago I made myself some weight loss jars and I set them in my bathroom. I was going to move a jewel every time I lost or gained weight. This way I could have a visual of how awesome I was doing when I lost weight. After months of never using it, I decided I was going to bring it to work and start making myself accountable.

Here they are... Howe cute are they!. I have no idea how many jewels are in the pounds to lose jar, however, I cannot wait for the day when its empty! 



 

And just for fun.. Here is a picture of the mountains that I live by. Fall is definitely here, and I LOVE it! I swear I live in the most beautiful place ever. You should all be jealous!! 


I tried something new with my eye makeup this morning and I was going to try and take a picture to show you.. However the HUGE ZIT right between my eyes kept distracting me... Its hard to take a sexy picture of yourself when you feel like a pubescent girl. So I took this photo instead.

Running with Runs

This is my first post from my cell phone.... So lets see how it goes.
Tonight i jumped on the treadmill and my stomach cramped up. I jogged the first mile and then walked two more. But then i came home. My stomach is just too upset with me. You can't really run when you have the runs. Yep.... I just said it.
Today i missed my goal and only went 3.25 miles. But I'm still proud that i even made it to the gym at all.

Weekend and Monday Goals

Lets start first with a re-cap of the goals last week and how I did.

Monday: 4.5 Mile Run  -- DONE Tuesday: 3 Mile run - Weights -- DONE
Wednesday: 4.5 Mile run -- DONE
Thursday: Weights  - not done
Friday: 1 hour cross train -- DONE
Saturday: 8 Mile Run - Weights - not done

I missed my weights on Thursday night and my 8 mile run on Saturday. I ended up having the stomach flu on Saturday and I could not run. YUCK! And I never work out on Sundays.

My goals for this week are pretty much the same:

Monday: 4.5 Mile Run
Tuesday: 3 Mile run - Weights
Wednesday: 4.5 Mile run
Thursday: Weights
Friday: 1 hour cross train
Saturday: 8 Mile Run - Weights

It was my moms birthday so we drove down to her house Saturday night and then on Sunday drove up the mountain to have her birthday dinner up there. Sunday Morning, I made a quilt.

Friday Weigh in

Remember yesterday when I weighed in and I was the exact same as I was last Friday. I woke up.. weighed in and I was at 186.8. Hurray!! I ran back in my room and grabbed my phone.. Weighed in again, and it was up. So I weighed in again.. Still up.   So.. No picture of my scale today. It was not playing nice.

But... I was 186.8!!!

Its not much down from last week... but my clothes are fitting better and its a loss.  I had this huge goal of getting into the 70's by the end of October. I have 9 days to lose 7 lbs. Not sure its going to happen.. but I am still going to give it a go. :)

Since I did not take a picture of the scale... Here is some of the pictures I took on my way to work today. I love where I live! Its so beautiful.

Goal Follow up

I am very happy to admin that I have killed my goals so far this week.

Here is what they are:

Monday: 4.5 Mile Run
Tuesday: 3 Mile run - Weights
Wednesday: 4.5 Mile run
Thursday: Weights
Friday: 1 hour cross train
Saturday: 8 Mile Run - Weights

So far:

Monday - Ran 4.5 miles on the treadmill. Well... I ran most of it. I did have to walk some. I guess that's what happens when you take 3 weeks off from running. 
Tuesday- Ran 3 miles on the treadmill and lifted weights for an hour and a half.  I love lifting weights. Makes me feel like a bad ass! However, I did have to walk some of my three miles.
Wednesday - Ran 4.5 miles outside. I ran the first 2 miles without stopping. I did have to walk some, but not as much as I thought! And I cut about 5 minutes off of my time from Monday! Woo Hoo!!

I am kicking butt and taking names. However.. I weighted my self this morning, which is never a good thing to do.. and its the same as I was last Friday. I must be building muscle, because my clothes are fitting better. Lets hope I magically lose like three pounds tonight so I can have a great weigh in tomorrow.

1. I love Toothbrushes. In high school I wrote a ten page paper about them.
2. I love high heeled shoes, but I never wear them. I just buy them and stick them in my closet. I really need to wear those babies!

4. I have 4 brothers, So I am more comfortable hanging out with a room full of dudes than girls. I can talk more about a shop and how to fix a car than I can about shopping.

Monday Goals

Good Morning Everyone!!! This week I am so motivated!!! So I have some ambitious goals!

And, I wanted to show you guys what I did yesterday. I made baby onesies for a boutique. Some of them just have something on the front, others have ruffle butts. Personally.. I think they are all adorable.

Busy Busy day.. and my weekly weigh in

Today has been such a busy day. Good news is.. I documented most of it!!!

It started last night when the starter went out in my Jeep. I called the auto parts store and picked up the part on my way home. This morning when I woke up, I decided I was going to change it myself so my hubby could get his school stuff taken care of.


And that's just what I did. (Amazingly, I was able to change it all by myself) I made sure I got some pictures of it.. for proof.






When Tye came home, he was stunned. he started laughing and saying things like: You are so amazing. I love you baby. You.. You are my wife. Baby.. you are just the greatest ever. It was the highlight of my day!! ( I am pretty sure it was the highlight of his day as well.

There are some ladies in my church group that want to do a huge craft day. We are making samples of things we know how to do and then we are going to teach each other. Here are the things that I made today after I fixed the Jeep.  I wanted to make something for Christmas and something for Autumn.  It took me way longer than I thought it would.




I then cleaned up the house and folded some laundry. Since Tye got to see me all dirty and greasy today,  I got all cleaned up so he would know I was still a girl we could go to dinner.


Last but not least.. my Weight. :(   Its what I was afraid of.  My horrible weekend, and then the horrible few days of the week... I went up in weight.


Yikes! I need to get my butt back in gear and get that weight off. I am very motivated and ready to go. :) Every day is a new day. Every week is a new week. And its up to us to make the most of it.

Breaking out of a slump

This week has been super tough for me. I have had no will power. If I want pizza, I eat it. If I want ice cream.. I eat it. I have never been like this before. Usually I can tell myself no and stick to it. Its killing me. I have not even gone to the gym.

Because of this slump that I have been in, and the horrible way I have treated myself, I have been able to see a change in myself. A change for the worse. I am more moody. I am more stressed. I don't sleep very well. I do not as happy as I usually am. I have bad gas. My stomach is constantly upset. Has it been fun eating whatever I want.. Yes. Has it been worth it. NO. I want to go back to how I was before.

I want to sleep good. I want to be happy. I want to work my guts out at the gym. I want to run. I want to lift weights. I want to feel good.

So I went to the store today and BAMM. Bought all of the yummy food that I know I should eat. I am excited to eat healthy and work out again.


How many of you guys have hit a slum?? How did you pull out of it??



And just for fun.. here I am at work, hugging my co workers giraffe. No make up.. hair not done.. Which is how I look most days!

Monday goals, Weekend Pictures and accountability

Here are the goals that I posted last week:

Run Every day this left this week
Lift Weights every day this week
Eat the way I have been taught to eat.

Well.. I hit NONE of them. Last week was horrible for me. I did really good until Friday. I was working out, running and watching what I ate. Friday came and I ate everything in sight. I stayed home and had a great relaxing weekend, that killed my weight loss goals. I thought about the gym.. but I did not go. Today I am ready to kick butt and take some names. Nothing like gaining 6 pounds in three days that makes you want to kick some butt.  (Yipes!! Yes.. 6 pound gain. Its from what I ate, but also because of TOM.)

Well.. Here are my goals for this week:

Follow my running schedule this week.
At least three full body lifts.
Drink at least 100 oz of water every day
Eat the way I have been taught to eat.
And last but not least... do not gain it all back while camping. 

I am so excited to go camping... I cannot stand it. But until my butt is on the mountain, it better be in the gym, and out of the kitchen!!!


Remember on Friday when I posted that I was going to run down the canyon with my nephew. They forgot to bring over his stroller. So we stayed home and watched Disney channel and played.

 He is waving good bye to my dog as he drives off on his tractor. I hope my kids are as cute as my brothers kids. Cause seriously.. my brothers have the cutest kids.


And... Here I am.. Hanging out in the Jeep waiting for my husband. I am not sure how it is at your house.. but at my house, I spend as much time waiting on him, as he spends waiting on me.Good thing I love him. :)

Friday Weigh in



Here is my weekly weigh in number. At this point.. if the scales is anything smaller than it was last week. Its a huge win for me! I LOVE it!

 



And here i am today at work. :) We are doing work pictures and I actually did my hair and make up. :) Its pretty rare for me.. so I am glad that I got some photographic proof. I love that my hair is getting long again. I have missed it.


 


 
 Tomorrow I am going to go run down the canyon... and I am so excited. I will make sure I take some pictures so you can share in the awesomeness!

Getting to know me!

I thought it would be nice if I did a post all about me. Whenever I talk about something I read on a blog, I always say.. My friend said....    I really do feel like you guys are my friends. I know who you are. I know your goals and your motivation. And I want you guys to feel the same way about me.

So here is a picture guide of me and things that I love.  

This is me as a little kid. I was adorable.



 This is me in High school. I am in the plaid shirt on the motorbike. Yipes.. no wonder I never got asked on a date in High school.






This is me now. I cut my hair off really short. Usually I wear it long.


 This is me and my hubby right around two years ago. Isn't he hott!! Love him!



Me and Tye live with his Mom to save us money while he goes to college. His mom is on the right and my mom is on the left. I have the best two Moms in the entire world. And for the record, I do love living with my Monther in Law.






This is a picture of my jeep. For labor day we took it off roading and went to the top of some pretty awesome mountains. And yes.. those are pink coils! :)




This is my motorbike.


This is my dog Sheisa. Yes Shiesa is the German word for shit. :) This little dog is my baby!  She has the worst under bite ever. And I love it!



Other random facts:
I have four brothers and no sister.
I am the middle child. Yep, two younger brothers and two older brothers.
I am a tom boy.
I do not smoke or drink
My vice is sugar. Any kind. Any time. Any where. Cannot get enough.
I usually don't wear make up. Mainly because I would rather sleep in.
I have been married for just over three years.
No kiddos yet. Maybe in a few years I will entertain that idea.

Monday Goals... On a Tuesday

Good Morning Ya'll. I decided to post Monday goals.. on Tuesday. Yesterday was a holiday and I was no where near a computer.

Here goes nothing:

Goals: 

Run Every day this left this week
Lift Weights every day this week
Eat the way I have been taught to eat. (This means healthy protiens, grains, lots of veggies and good fruits)

Yesterday I did not lift weights, but I did do a lot of hiking. And I ate clean until I had Mexican for dinner. So.. Monday.. Fail. :)

I do want to show you guys something that is a win! My self esteem is going up. As of right now, I am down 20 lbs. Hurray!! Look at the difference in the picures I have taken of me:

The first one is me last summer. I never weighted myself so I have no idea where I was at. Judging by the size of my arms.. I know I was much bigger than I am now. I am betting I was around 215. I have some pants that I wore at that time, and they are too big for me.  Most importantly:  look at how I hid myself. Never ever ever letting anyone take a full body picture of me. I had such low self esteem. 


I am in the black dress hiding behind the girl with the teal skirt on. I am guessing I was around 215 lbs because of the size of clothing I was in.

And this is me now. Me and my sister in law took these pictures before we ran the Ragnar in June. Full body shot.. ok.. but lets do something stupid. In the picture below I was around 195 lbs. Still not where I want to be, but my self esteem is going up and I am not afraid to have my picture taken.

Green Shorts for September - Monthly picture

If you are just starting to follow my blog, you probobly have no idea what my green short posts are about. I was given a pair of shorts, that I loved, however I could not zip them up. I decided to take a picture of me in them on the first day of every month and post a picture. That way I could see my progress.


This month... They ZIPPED UP!. They are still to tight to wear out in public, however, I can see a huge difference in my I am SOOO excited!! I am hoping by next month, they will fit a little better on my hips! I am so glad that I started taking these pictures. It gives me hope and helps to keep me motivated!

How to take full body measurements


Once a month, at my training sessions, Bert my trainer will measure me. The last time he did, I made sure I asked him how and why he was placing the tape where he was placing it. These body spots are the most accurate for assessing lose and for ensuring you are measuring in the same spot each time. Measuring in the same place every time, has always been the hardest part for me.


Here are the measurements you will want to take.Neck, Bicep, Fore Arm, Wrist, Chest, Waist, Hips, Thigh, Saddle, Calf, Weight.


I find that its easiest and most accurate to have someone else take your measurements. Its really hard to find the right spots, and hold the tape all by yourself. I have my husband help me when I am at home, a friend help me when I am at work, or my trainer help me at the gym. (Yeah.. yeah.. I do take my measurements at work.. don't judge me! )  

Here are pictures and instructions for each body measurement, except the neck. Its really easy to measure your neck because you naturally measure the smallest part, and you cannot really suck in your next to get smaller measurements. :)

Bicep
Hold the arm down strait down to your sides, with your palms facing the wall behind you.. There will be a natural curve on the outside of your upper arm. You want to take the measurement right at the middle of this curve, or at the largest part of the curve. I drew an arrow to show you where this is at on me.
 Fore Arm
To measure your fore arm you are going to put your arm at a 90 degree angle with your palm up. On the inside of your arm, there is a slight bump. That is what you are looking for. You want to measure right over that bump. Once again, I drew an arrow so you can see where its at on me.
 Wrist
To measure your wrist, place your palm down. You will see a bone sticking out on the left side of the picture, you want the tape to go right below that bone and strait around the wrist.

Chest
To measure your chest, I find its easier to have some one behind you You place the tape around the biggest part of your chest, while they make sure its going straight around you. They take the measurement from the backside.  I also make sure I note which bra I am wearing that day. Some bra's can add a few inches to your chest... if you know what I mean.

Waist
The waist is going to change for each person. You want to measure where you are the smallest. I drew an arrow where I am the smallest. One of my friends is smallest down lower by her hips, and another friend is smaller right below her chest. Make sure you are not sucking in at all. It's horrible.. but you want this to be accurate.

 Hips
For your hips, you are going to stand with your feet together and you are going to look for your natural curve again. You want to measure right in the middle of that curve, or the largest part.. I have the tape on my hips to show you where.

Thigh
The Thigh. My favorite part on a chicken, the least favorite part on my body. Once again, you are going to look for your natural curve, on the inside of your leg. Your Thighs get smaller right where they attach to your butt. You want to measure the largest part of this curve. And then try not to cry yourself to sleep after. :)

Saddle

To measure your saddle, you want to get that tape right under your booty and pull it around to the front of you. Its kinda hard to explain, so I pulled the tape around me to show you. Once you get the tape nestled up under your bum.. Its going to naturally pull around to the front of you in the correct place.

 
Calf
By now you probably know what I am going to say. Look for your curve.. measure the largest spot. And your right. That's exactly what you are going to do. The curve you are looking for is on the outside of your leg.
