Monday Goals... A day late..

Yesterday was so busy that I forgot to post my goals for this week. They are super short and should be fairly easy.. so here goes nothing.

My goals for this week are:
  • Recover from my half marathon
  • Work out twice a day (Nothing specific.. I am SUPER sore and so my work outs might be just walking)
  • Be ready to run my 5K on Saturday.
  • Get back down to the 180's on the scale

And thats it. I don't want to push it too hard this week since I am recovering from my half. My quads and hams are killing me every time I jump out of my jeep or sit down.

But I have been jogging and walking still and doing the 30 day shred.

And Yes.. I did the 30 day shred while I was super sore.. and yes, it felt like the very first time. It was an eye opener for me of how far I have come and how I want to be in shape and stay in shape for the rest of my life. Not being able to do something that I was able to do last week was tough to swallow. (Even if it was because of a race I ran)

Hope ya'll are doing great and staying strong. :)

Half Marathon recap!!!

The morning of my half marathon started out at 3:15 am. YIKES! That is so early! We drove up to the start and go in line for the bus. Luckily the line was really short, and not very long later.. we were on our way up to the start of the race. On our way up we were talking about our goal time. My previous race times were all in the 2:45 region.  I had a dream of 2:30, however I knew it was a long ways off. I have not trained well enough for that.

We got to the starting point at about 4:45 and settled in for the wait. We ate some breakfast.. said hi to some of my racing friends. Waited in line for the potties a few times... you know.. nervous pee pees. And before I knew it.. Race time was only a few minutes away. Not enough time to get my cell phone set up to my garmin account. :(  oh well... C'est la Vie

Noel, Me and Dee at the starting line

Noel had a good ol' regular watch, so we could at least have an accurate time of how fast we were going. At the first mile, we were right above 10 minutes. That's fast!!!! I usually run a 12 minute mile. We hit mile 2 and we were going at a little under a ten minute mile. Miles 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8... all the same. We were burning it up. I have never ran that fast in my life. We averaged a below ten minute mile for the first 8 miles. That is monumental.

After that we hit a few hills, and the sun came out. Hot and uphill... my worse nightmare.  We started averaging around a 12 minute mile. At 11 miles I hit a huge wall and I could not go any more. Noel kept going and I pushed on the best I could. Right after the 11 mile mark, they handed out otter pops. It was hot, and I was so tired, and that otter pop sounded like the best food in the world. I ate a few bites and jogged on. Then.. Bam.. It hit me.  CRAMP! HOLY CRAMP! I have never had a cramp so bad in my life. Usually a cramp comes on just one side.. and I can tell it to shut up and keep going. This one hit on both sides.. my whole stomach was killing me.

I looked down at my time, and saw that I had been running over just over 2 hours. That meant that I could hobble to the finish line and still make my goal. I hobbled on the best I could and I would jog for as long as possible. The last two miles were so hard. I knew it was going to be close.. I might make it just after the 2:30 mark.

I turned the last corner and saw the finish line.. and the time on the board was 2:29.30 and I gave it all I had. And I crossed the finish line before the 2:30 mark. Saying that I was trilled was an understatement. My far off dream came true.. even though I had to walk most of the last two miles.

My official bib time was 2:29.08. That means I beat my PR by 15 minutes and 36 seconds!! THATS HUGE!!! Here are the times from all of my races.

Halloween half 2010:    2:45.09
Thanksgiving point half 2011:  2:44.51
Halloween Half 2011:    2:44.44
Timpanogos Half 2012:  2:29.08

This girl right here is very proud of herself!! That was such a great race! Noel has the pictures from the finish.. so I will have to get them and post them later.

Hope you are all having a great weekend!!

Friday Weigh in... and pre half marathon nervous pee pees

So.. This week started out really rough for me. I had a horrible attitude and I ate whatever i wanted, whenever I wanted. So I knew I was going to be up with this weigh in. It was not as bad as I thought it was going to be. I am up 1.4 lbs. And I am positive that they will be gone by tomorrow when I get done with my half marathon. :)

So.. Half marathon talk... For anyone that has ever ran a race or preformed in any type of way.. there is a nervous excitement that happens right before. There is some times adrenalin, other times dread.. but there is always the feeling.. however you want to explain it.

I call it the nervous pee pees. Before I race, I always get the feeling like I am going to pee my panties. Then I wait in line for 20 minutes and when I get into the bathroom... there is 2 drops of pee that will come out of me. Its so frustrating. However, if I do not play this silly game with myself, I feel like I am going to pee in my panties the entire run.

Every time I think about running the half marathon tomorrow.. I get the nervous pee pees. I am so excited scared.. I just cannot wait! This is my 4th half marathon that I have done.. So I am not scared or nervous about finishing.. Its just a long ways to run and it takes a certian amount or mental preperation to be able to accomplish it.

I will make sure I take some pictures.. and that I let you all know how it goes.

Happy Friday! Stay Strong!!

Where did my "give a shit" go?? And Monday Goals

Since Friday the 20th.... I have not felt very good.. and as a result... I did not really care about anything. I have been super emotional. Depressed. Lots of tears... Lots of whining.. moping.. and not much getting done. As my brother would say.. My give a shit meter was on zero.

On Friday night I was going to go to the gym. Nope. I stayed home and ... well.. I don't even remember what I did. Nothing much.

Saturday morning at 4:45 am my husband leaves to go build a deck with some friends and my dog barfs all over in my bed. ... Like all over. I could not just roll over onto the clean side and pretend it never happens. It was a hot mess. Since I was supposed to get up and go running with two friends I got up and ate some breakfast... However they both had texted me and said they were not going to make it. The path that we run on, is dangerous to run alone. Lots of girls get raped on that trail... so I can't really go run where I had planned on going by myself. So its now 5:30 am on a Saturday and I am wide awake.  Can't go back to bed... Can't go on the run that I had mentally prepared for..  So I took my dog out for a quick run with me. She thought it was the best thing ever. And yes.. even though she threw up about an hour before.. she was just fine. And adorable. Love that little dog. Here is a picture of us after a quick two mile walk/ jog. (Yeah.. I as going to run 12... but I just could not get up the gumption to go for a run by myself)

After that run.. my day fell apart even more. I spent the next few hours driving all around town looking for something that in the end, I did not need. More people cancelled plans... me and my husband drove for an hour and a half (without AC) to pick something up at a junk yard for his motorbike.. Once we got home we realized that we had grabbed the wrong part. It was just one of those days.. We all have them.. You know what I am talking about.

The horribleness followed me throughout the rest of the weekend and onto Monday.  Nothing was going right, I was in a funk and my attitude was horrible. Me and my husband ended up driving back up to the junk yard get the correct part last night. As he is looking around to find what he needs, I go to the gas station to get a drink and a donut. Guess who forgot their wallet at home. I went to get my husbands debit card.. because damn it..  I was going to eat that donut. And I might have had another mental breakdown if that donut did not end up leaving that store with me some time that day.

As I am leaving the gas station for the second time a homeless guys.. who has seen me come to the gas station.. leave and then come back..(The entire time I am pouting)  yells at me... . SMILE!  aawwww shit. The homeless guy just told me to smile. This is a guy who does not have a house. No food. Would probably kill for shower.. and he is smiling at me and telling me to smile.   What is wrong with me. I am such an ungrateful wretch. (And, I don't even have my wallet to give that guy some cash. Heaven knows he deserves it.) I have a place to live, and a car, and a motorcycle, and an awesome husband. A shower, food to eat, a job, enough time and money to work on my hobbies. I am healthy, and I am fit. Really.. Stop being such a diva.

I owe that homeless guys so much. He completely changed my attitude and pulled my out of the funk I was in. I wish there was something that I could give back to him. I am so grateful he was there.

This Saturday is my half marathon. Because of that, I am not going to kill myself at the gym. I am still going to try and make it there every day, and try and run a little every day.. but no killer or amazing goals. I guess my goals shoudl be to get caught up on all of the stuff I have neglected since Friday. Mow the lawn.. Laundry.. things like that. And I want to kill it at my race on Saturday. :)

Have a good day every one.. and remember.. SMILE.

And just for fun... Here is a picture of my hansom husband on the motorcycle that he is building.  He has a long ways to go. :)

Friday Weigh In

There is always something that one can improve on.. always more that can be done..   blah blah blah.. The trick to life is doing your very best, and being damn proud of what you accomplished. And if you did not do your best.. then get that booty up.. and get going. Make yourself proud.

Well.. I am sure that I could have lost more weight.. I could have ran harder, ate less... blah blah... Whatever. I am damn proud of myself. I did my best and this is the result that I have for it.

It was foggy in the bathroom.. so my camera lense got a little foggy.. sorry.   But LOOOKK!! I'm in the 180's!

In the last two weeks I went from 193.2 to 188.8. That is a 4.4lb loss in two weeks. A healthy loss that I should be able to maintain. I want to work my butt off and never ever see the 190's again.

I love that I am on my way.. I love that I have not given up yet. And I love that I have something to be proud about. :)

Going... Going... Gone.

As you know.. I have some lofty work out goals. And I have been killing myself trying to reach them. I mean.. working out 4 times a day. Getting up early.. going to bed late. Getting the job done...

Last night.. I crashed. I fell asleep on the couch at 6:30 and when I woke up a few hours later.. I decided just to go to bed. I had a headache and was essentially useless. I slept until my alarm went off this morning at 5:15 am.    So last night I slept almost 11 hours. I must have been a very sleepy little girl!

On the good news side of things...  I am so excited for my weigh in tomorrow. All of this working out has for sure paid off.

Here are my goals updated. I was going to go for a run last night... but.. I was too busy sleeping.

Ran: 3 Miles     17 Miles to go
Shredded: 3 days      3 Days to go
Lifted: 2 Days    1 Day to go
Spun - 1 time    1 class left to go

Busy Busy Busy

Its only Wednesday, but I feel like it should be Friday. Its been such a busy week for me so far.

Monday started out with the gym. I am really starting to love getting up and working out in the mornings. I fee so much better through out the day.  We did not do the 30 day shred during the work day because I thought of the idea Monday morning after I was already at work. And no one had their work out clothes.

Right after work I went to bunco. I love me some bunco. Its great to get out and spend some time laughing and relaxing. I ended up getting home around 10:15. Yipes. I ended up doing the 30 day shred any ways, and got to bed a little after 11.

Tuesday morning me and Ashley decided to skip going to the gym. She is in my bunco group too and got home late. It was so nice to sleep in! I did do the 30 day shred at work, and it was AWESOME! I am starting to feel more in shape and like I can push through things that I would have wimped out on before.

After work, I went right to spin class. Its my first time back to spin for a while, and it was tough. But.. it was spin.. who does not love a good spin class. The lights are low, the music is loud, and you have no idea how much tension the person next to you has on. Which means that its a competition with yourself. (If some one is running on the tread mill next to me... its always a race for me. I ALWAYS want to beat them....  Is that bad?? )

Once spin class was done... I was feeling a little woosey... It was from lack of food. I went home and started to cook some chicken that I could put into a salad. My body was telling me that I needed food NOW. Not when the chicken got done. So I ended up eating a bowl of healthy cereal. Looks like my new meds are working. My blood sugar levels were for sure moving around yesterday and once I ate.. I felt like a new person. That never happened before.

Since me and Ash missed the morning work out.. we went for a jog outside. Just a slow steady jog, and it was beautiful. It just felt good.

After that.. I went to bed... I was a very tired girl.

This morning I got up and went to the gym to lift weights and I have all of my gear to do the 30 day shred at lunch.  And I am excited to go for a run tonight. I want to run outside again and find out what my pace is. I usually run with people when I run outside.

Here are my updated stats:

Ran: 2 Miles     18 Miles to go
Shredded: 2 days      4 Days to go
Lifted: 2 Days    1 Day to go
Spun - 1 time    1 class left to go

I am on track to hit all of my goals...  As long as I get running. :)

Happy Wednesday!

Monday Goals

Well... last week was a bust for goals. I stopped keeping track. It was just too much. Rather than having a mini breakdown because I didn't hit my goals... I decided to save my sanity and take it easy last week. I still went to the gym a lot, and I still went on my long run on Saturday. So over all, I feel really well about last week.

I do want to keep pushing myself, so here are my goals for this week.

Run 20 Miles
30 Day Shred 6 Days
Weights 3 Days
Spin Class 2 days

Me and a bunch of people at work are going to start doing the 30 day shred at work on our lunch breaks. This means that I should not miss a week day ever. And I have a bunch of other people to compete with keep me motivated. :)

I have heard that the 30 day shred really works. and there are a ton of before and after pictures out there, so I am excited to see what it can do for me.

Think Healthy Thoughts... :)

Saturday Run

I got up at 5:30 today and went for a run. I live right next to a large canyon that has a running trail on it. From the top back to my house is a little under 8 miles. (Me and Noel ran this a few weekends back. Click Here to ready about it.)

Ashely wanted to go on this run with me, however she is not sure she wanted to go 8 miles. She is just starting out with running and that was too much. I wanted to run ten or eleven miles since my half marathon is coming up in two weeks, so I devised a brilliant plan. Ashley would park at the bottom of the canyon and I would pick her up and drive to the top.  This means she would run about 5 miles, and I could turn around and run back to the top to my jeep and run about 10.  Perfect plan right.. :)

Well, we do just that and we start running. I turn on my Garmin so we can track how far and how long we have been running. The run was beautiful. Huge waterfalls, a river and trees everywhere.

We get down to Ashley's car and I look at my Garmin.. Almost 6 miles. Wow... that was more than I expected. I had only prepared mental to go about 10 miles. Well.. I jogged my cute little butt back up that canyon. I did end up walking a few times, but I am ok with that.
I ran a total of 11.76 miles. And I am not sore right now. Which is a good sign. As long as things keep going like they are going... I am going to be ready to rock my half marathon. Woo Hoo!!

Friday Weigh in -- umm.. Pass And losing weight with PCOS

Today should be my weigh in day. I weigh in at home almost every day, and yesterday I was looking good. I was down from last week, and I was feeling good.

However, this morning was a disaster. Its a girly disaster. Cramping.. bloating.. you know.. all that. And my weight reflected.  This also affected my work outs. I am tired and cranky and moody. So I decided to save my emotions, and I passed for this weeks weigh in.

However, good new!! I went to my dr and asked them why I can work out two times a day and eat healthy and not lose weight. Something has to be going on. And we found out exactly what the problem is. I have poly cystic ovarian syndrome. Well.. I have known that since I was 14.. nothing new there. What I did find out that was new is the fact that I am insulin resistant.

Insulin resistant... Wha??   I had her explain it to me in kindergarten terms.. and this is what it means. When you eat food, your body breaks it down turns it into sugar in your blood and then the insulin come in and turns it into energy. Diabetics cannot control their insulin, so some times their blood sugar gets really high, or really low. My body makes insulin. It just does not care. No need for that. My body will not let the insulin make that blood sugar into energy. Instead my body stores it.  (remember.. this is kindergarten terms...)

So I was prescribed something that will make my body use that insulin. Its not a magic weight loss pill, its not going to solve all of my weight loss woes.. however, it will help me to preform better. I should be able to have more energy and not store so much food as fat.

This prescription however is going to make me pretty sick for a little while. But, its going to be worth it. I just have to stick it out. So wish me luck. And maybe I will weigh in on Monday when I am not so emotionally attached to the number on the scale.

Happy Weekend Everyone!

Life has a way of ruining my plans. :)

So I started off the week with some awesome goals. It was going to be great, I was motivated, determined, and then life happened. Bare with me as I give you a bit of a back story.

Most of you do not know that I currently live with my Mother in Law. I have for almost three years, and for all of my married life. Sounds horrible right... well WRONG! :)   At first, it was pretty rough. Getting used to a new husband, and all of his quirks, and then getting used to living in someones house... We are lucky our marriage survived the first few months. Living there is now the biggest and best blessing in my life. I love my Mother in Law and we get along famously. I love being able to save a bit of money as my husband is going through school. I am going to miss living there when we move out.

On Monday my Mother in Law went into the ER. She started having strange stomach pains on Saturday and waited it out until Monday to make sure it was really something serious. She had an MRI and met with a urologist, pharmacist, and her family dr. Spending time in the hospital with her was more important than any fitness goals I might have had.

She ended up having a cyst on her kidney. And they said its the simple kind. There is a tiny chance that it could be cancerous, but they were not at all worried about it, and said that we should not worry about it either. They sent her home with some pain medications and told her to come back in 6 months so they could check it out again. Phew. It was great news!!!

Yesterday I ended up missing spin class again because I wanted to get home and make dinner and take care of Mom. But I did go to the gym in the morning, and I did run at night.

So here are my updated stats as of right now. ( I did work out this morning as well... thats three mornings in a row ya'll) I will not be able to hit all of my goals this week either, however I am not worried. Family will always come first.

5 mile done.  19 left to go.
0 spin classes done. 3 left to go.
2 weights day done.  1 left to go.
0 30 day shred days done. 6 left to go.

On a side note I tried something new....

YUMMM!!!   They are SO delicious!  I may or may not have had one for breakfast today. If you have not tried them out.. Try one.

Monday - Goals for the week

So.. Last week I fell a little short on my goals.. so I decided to have the same goals again for this week. But adding something extra in... I just might kill myself.

25 miles
3 spin classes
3 weights days
30 Day shred - 6 days

So far today... I have ran a mile and lifted weights. Yikes.. Pray for me. This is going to be a rough week. However, If I survive it, I should have some lost weight to brag about Friday Morning!

I got the pictures from the 5K that I ran on the 4th of July. Wow. I looked horrible in all of them. Here is the best of the worst:

Yes.. My eyes are closed. I almost look like I am sleeping or something. Hhmm.. guess at the next race I will have to try and look more bad a-- in my pictures so I have something funner to post. :)

Oh.. yesterday me and my husband drove up the mountains to get out of the house and get some fresh air. Look at these mountains... I am so lucky to live 10 minute away from here. This is right above Sundance.

And I brought my phone with me to work today... So I can now show you the picture I took of my scale on Friday.

Last but not least... My updated goals so far:

1 mile done.  24 left to go.
0 spin classes done. 3 left to go.
1 weights day done.  2 left to go.
0 30 day shred days done. 6 left to go.

Friday Weigh in!

Hey Ya'll... I weighed in this morning, and I took a picture of my scale.. and then I left my phone at home. So Annoying!!! So I do not have an awesome picture to show you... But... I weighted...

I am down one pound from last week. I will admit that at first I was a little upset. Only one pound. But then I realized that if I lost one pound a day by my birthday next year, I would be around 145. That's not too shabby! I would love to be there. I would hope it would happen sooner, however the worst case scenario is still looking better than were I am at right now.  So I am going to keep my chin up, and my butt in the gym, and out of the kitchen. :)

Speaking of my butt being in the gym.. It was there twice last night, and once already today. We had a new teacher in spin class, and I wanted to hug her and punch her at the same time. My legs were like jello, and I was giddy. The same type of giddy I get when I stay up to late. It was great and horrible... all at the same time.

I then went and walked around Wal Mart... uughhg... went home, put away the groceries, and went back to the gym. Me and Ashley decided to do a cardio day and we ran three miles. Yikes. My legs were screamin. I did not beat my 3 mile pr of 35 minutes, but I felt like a rock start when I was able to pull a 36. Ashley went from a 43 to a 38. I am going to have to kick it up a notch so she does not start to beat me. :) ( I am so proud of her! She is doing awesome!!) We are thinking of doing a 5K sometime soon.

Here are my goals updated:

14 miles done.  11 left to go.
2 spin class done. 1 left to go.
1 weights day done.  2 left to go.

Fires and the 4th of July

Tuesday I had every intention of going to a spin class right after work and then running a few miles before bed. All of that went out of the window when my husband called me and let me know that his brother was being evacuated due to a fire that started on the mountain right behind his house. As soon as we got off of work, we drove right up to his house to help get things packed up and moved around for them.

Luckily the fire ended up staying just far enough away However, my brother in law and my husband are so stubborn, that we did not actually leave their house at all. We ate a yummy grilled chicken salad with strawberry and avocado, and watched the planes come in and dump the retardant. The fire was within a quarter of a mile of the house, but it was moving sideways on the mountain, not down the mountain towards the house. We did have everything packed up so if the winds shifted we could be out of there within minutes.

Here are the boys watching out the window and taking pictures of all of the awesome planes that are dropping retardant. My husband is on the left and my brother in law is on the right. See the pain of glass above my brother in laws head... Yeah.. its all red and smokey.. those are flames.

Here is a picture I took right when we got there. There is their backyard, a house, a street and then the fire. The plane is dropping the retardant and I will admit... it was freakin cool to watch.

We ended up staying at their house until around 10:30 at night. So no working out for me expect for the morning work out I was able to sneak in. However, this means that getting my goal for the week done is impossible! With the 4th of July, there were only going to be three spin classes taught, and I missed one of them. I might see if any of the gyms around me have a Saturday class I can hit.

Wednesday morning I got up at 5:30 am to go and run a 5k that I had signed up for.  Parking for this race was AWESOME! I drove right there, and was able to walk around at the starting line and get all pumped up!

The race started at 7 am and I ran the first mile down the path of the parade. So people were yelling and cheering you on. They had music playing. It was awesome.

We then turned onto a little side street and thats when things got crappy. The road was too small for that many runners and with so many people walking, you could not get through. The entire race slowed to a walk. At first I was super upset. But then I realized that this was just for fun. I needed to enjoy myself and realize that I was outside on a beautiful day. It was not hot yet, and  I was healthy enough that I could be outside doing this run.

About another mile into it, we turned onto a bigger street and I was able to jog to the finish. At the finish line we were given a metal and a water bottle. Wow! That's a lot of swag for a race. We got a shirt when we picked up our packets. I have ran half marathons that did not give you as much stuff as this race did. No wonder everyone and their dog was entered into this race.

The worst part of the race was the traffic! It took me about 6 minutes to drive down to the race, and almost an hour to drive back home. When I got home, this is what I found...   Yep, my husband and my dog. Still in bed. Both of them were sleeping. However, my dog woke up right before I could click a picture. The lucky little devils!

It was around 9 am now, and since I had been up for over three hours, and walked/jogged 3 miles and sat in traffic for an hour, I am STARVING! I kicked Tye out of bed and told him to take me to breakfast! Yum!! French toast and bacon and eggs!

The rest of the day was pretty relaxed. We went and saw a movie and then went out to dinner. I had a light salad in hopes of off setting the calorie packed yummy, best breakfast ever.

All of the gyms were closed and it was too hot to run outside, so I took the rest of the day off.

All in all.. a great 4th of July!

Here are my updated stats:  --YIKES!

7 miles done.  18 left to go.
1 spin class done. 2 left to go.
1 weights day done.  2 left to go.

Spin Class and Morning Gym Time

Last nights spin class was AMAZING! There was a new teacher and she cracked me up. The whole time we worked out she was talking about the Tom and Katie divorce and which celebrity she wanted to see naked. I worked out so hard, and yet it was so fun. My spin buddy Janelle and I spend most of the time giggling in the back. When class was over, and we were stretching out, Janelle noticed that she was sweating from her legs. She was so proud of herself. Guess that's spin class for you.

I went back to the gym last night to get some running in. Since I want to do 25 miles this week, I have to get running in every chance I get. When I walked out of my house, the moon was so bright! It was awesome!

The gym that I go to has a cardio cinema. I love running in the dark watching a great movie. Yesterday they did not have the air on in the cinema and the ceiling fans were not going. I ran a mile and a half and I was drenched in sweat. Pouring off of my face, dripping down my back. It was vile. Usually after a mile and a half, or two miles, I am getting a little warm, but I hardly sweat at all. My phone can tell me what the temperature is and it said it was 85 degrees in that room.  I had to stop and walk some of my three miles. But I finished it, and I burned some awesome calories! 436 to be exact.

This morning I got up at 5:30 and headed over to the gym with Ashley.  I ran sprints, however I still only did a ten minute mile. I really need to start working on my speed. Then we lifted weights and did ab work.

When I came out of the gym, the sun rise was breathtaking. I was so glad that I got my but out of bed. It made everything worth it.

My stats so far this week:

4 miles done.  21 left to go.
1 spin class done. 2 left to go.
1 weights day done.  2 left to go.

Not too shabby if I say so myself.

Weekly goals

I started out this blog with a Monday weigh in. After having two bad weekends, I have decided to move the weekly weigh in to Fridays and to have a Motivational Monday.

I come back from the weekends, and I am usually up just a little, and I usually am a little sad and burned out. No one likes to see the scale go up. However on Fridays, I am feeling good. Its the last day before the weekend. I have been good all week. I have motivation to try and get me through the weekend. Its a great day. So Friday Weigh ins... Woo Hoo!!

This means Mondays need to be replaced. And they need to be awesome. I am going to start having weekly goals that have nothing to do with weight loss. I want to start being more athletic, and working out more.

So my goals for this week:

Run 25 miles total.
Go to 3 Spin Classes
Lift Weights 3 times.

Those are some pretty hefty goals. I will tell you what I hit last week:

I ran 13 Miles. At Most. I know I hit at least 12.  ( I kinda did not track everything like I should have... )
I went to one spin class. It was on Tuesday.
I lifted weights Twice.
This means that I have my work cut out for me this week.

and blast from the past picture... Here I am a few weeks ago at Ragnar. I'm horrible at taking pictures.. I guess I need to get better. After all.. who wants to look at a blog with no pictures.

July - Green Shorts

A little while ago I promised to start posting monthly pictures of me trying on a pair of green shorts. These shorts were given to me and I fell in love with them despite the fact that the shorts were too small.... or my hips were too big. :)

I think its helpful to have a visual of where you started and where you are going. I want to use the same clothing in my pictures to help me see exactly how far I have come, and that's when the green shorts challenge came into existence.

I am not sure why I am smiling...   And not sure why I decided that taking this picture right after a spin class would be a good idea.....     But here goes nothing. All of my pride... gone.
